Asbestos was used in a variety of construction materials and can be found in floors, walls, ceilings and even around ductwork. PCBs, or Polychlorinated Biphenyls can often be found in fluorescent light ballasts that were manufactured prior to July 1978. As you can see, these environmental contaminants can be found in many places.
What are some of the harmful effects of these hazards?
It is important that any contaminants found are remediated right away. They can have severe health affects ranging from a runny nose, watery eyes and cough, to developmental delay in children and even cancer.
