AQHI Inc. is affiliated with numerous reputable organizations that are helping to make California, the US, and the world a better place to live, breathe, and grow. We’re proud of the organizations we’re affiliated with, so we wanted to take a moment to tell you more about them.
CAL/OSHA
This stands for the State of California Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Occupational Safety and Health. According to its website, it “protects workers from health and safety hazards on the job in almost every workplace in California through its research and standards, enforcement, and consultation programs.” That’s a mission that aligns perfectly with AQHI’s purpose—both are about increasing the safety and health of all Californians.
BBB
This stands for Better Business Bureau. It’s a localized part of a national organization called the Council of Better Business Bureaus that aims to enhance honesty and responsiveness between businesses and consumers, with a focus on increasing consumer confidence and trustworthiness of businesses for everyone’s benefit. The Central California BBB has a branch that reviewed our Rancho Cucamonga business and gave it an A+ rating, the highest possible. This rating is based on a bunch of different factors, in our case particularly the length of time our business has been operating and the fact that we don’t have any complaints that have been filed with the BBB. We hate to toot our own horn but beep beep!
AQMD
This stands for South Coast Air Quality Management District, and according to its website, it’s the “air pollution control agency for all of Orange County and the urban portions of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties, among the smoggiest regions of the U.S.” Its top priority is protecting the health of residents while respecting business’ interests as well. Less harmful contamination is always a great goal, and AQHI and AQMD are both working hard to achieve it!
CSLB
This stands for the Department of Consumer Affairs Contractors State License Board. It licenses about 290,000 contractors in 43 different license classifications throughout the state of California. Since it was established in 1929, it has been regulating the construction industry, striving to ensure optimal safety for workers and consumers alike. For more info check out its website. Safety is one of the top priorities of CSLB and AQHI, so it makes sense that we’re affiliated.
CalEPA
This stands for the California Environmental Protection Agency. It’s divided into 6 sectors: Air Resources Board (ARB), Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR), Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), and the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB). It goes without saying that its purpose is to protect the environment, but it’s often more complex than that. According to its website, it develops, implements, and enforces the states environmental protection laws that regulate clean air, clean water, clean soil, safe pesticides, and waste recycling and reduction. This organization uses extensive environmental science research to shape the entire state’s environmental laws. It goes hand in hand with AQHI Inc., which precisely detects and safely disposes of hazardous materials every day.
EPA
This stands for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (website). It’s also dedicated to protecting the environmental and the health and safety of citizens, but at a national level. When the United States Congress writes an environmental law, it implements it by writing specific regulations and enforcing. These national standards are often enforced by state and tribe regulations as well, and the EPA steps in to ensure the standards are being met by companies nationwide. More safety for all Americans and increased protection for our precious planet? Yes please!
DGS
This stands for California Department of General Services (website), which acts as a sort of business manager for the state of California, tackling all the little side projects that don’t fit into defined categories including real estate management and design, environmentally friendly transportation, building standards, and fire/life safety and accessibility for K-12 public schools and community colleges. It’s a very tall order in such an enormous state, one that AQHI Inc. supports through its affiliation with DGS.
DTSC
This stands for the California Department of Toxic Substances Control. This one is probably the organization that echoes AQHI’s mission the closest. Its website explains, “the mission of DTSC is to protect California’s people and environment from harmful effects of toxic substances by restoring contaminated resources, enforcing hazardous waste laws, reducing hazardous waste generation, and encouraging the manufacture of chemically safer products.” DTSC and AQHI are pretty much like peanut butter and jelly—they go perfectly together, with their missions so intertwined.
